The 26th meeting of the Spacecraft Plasma Interaction Network in Europe (SPINE) will be hosted by ONERA on the 11th and 12th of June 2019 , 2 avenue Edouard Belin, Toulouse, France.
This year and due to the dynamic and rising area of spacecraft charging in the context of electrical propulsion the SPINE workshop will be organised in coordination with Comittee of Expert workshop (https://www.comet-cnes.fr/) organised by CNES and ONERA on Electrical propulsion, held after the SPINE on June 13th (participation to this is handled through a separate invitation).
This SPINE workshop is an open forum on new research and technology, needs and plans in the area of spacecraft plasma interactions.
While the topic of Electrical Propulsion and Orbit Raising will be one obvious focus area, we are encouraging as usual contributions on various topics of interest for the European Plasma community, gathering academic, industrial and agencies, such as:
- Evolution of charging environments and standards
- Material properties (measurements, databases, new materials, etc ..)
- Electric propulsion plasma environments, electrical orbit raising
- Charging of Cubesats and Nanosats, related instrumentation
- Particle and Wave instrument contamination by plasma plumes effects
- Plasma instruments and electrostatic cleanliness
- Charged dusts in space, interactions with space probes
- SPIS performance, current and future developments, interoperability with other simulation tools
the above list not being exhaustive. Proposal of focus on any other specific topics are most welcome.
In case you want to participate please register before the 10th of May 2019 latest on the following ESA indico website:
https://indico.esa.int/event/306/
You can indicate whether you would prefer to contribute with a presentation (title and author required) or a discussion topic.
In case of issues using indico please send an email to:

Also, please feel free to forward this invitation to anyone you think may be interested.
Note: Participation to the meeting is free of charge and open to all organisations from ESA member states but prior registration (by e-mail fabrice.cipriani – at – esa.int or david.rodgers – at – esa.int or by registration on ESA indico Website above) is required to be given access to the meeting venue.
For the SPINE community, Fabrice Cipriani, David Rodgers, Grégoire Déprez, Jean-Charles Matéo-Vélez and Denis Payan
